The Big Z Changes Mind, Grammatical Person

Just a week after throwing off the gloves with the Cubs front office and demanding a new contract before the season starts (or ELSE) all while talking in the third person, Carlos Zambrano has had a change of heart. He's now telling people he plans to sign a one year deal with the Cubs and can wait on an extension.

Obviously this is bad news for the rest of the division as the Cubs lineup (even without Ichiro) is going to be scary next year and the Big Z is the rare Cubbie ace that can pitch well and stay healthy at the same time. But this is even worse news because the Big Z gave the entire statement in the first person. Look at those quotes from the second linked article above, "I think..." and "I have..." and "I spoke..."

Let's be perfectly clear here folks; the NL Central may have the defending World Champs and the best hitter in baseball, but the AL Central or AL East it is not. We need the odd renegade pitcher talking in the third person to spice things up and seeing Zambrano revert back to the first person makes me a little sad on the inside. There's no "I" in team, Z.
