Apparently the Cardinals "1 million to 1" shot at signing Roger Clemens is significantly less than that. After the Cards told agent Randy Hendricks they were interested in signing the Rocket, the response was less than glowing. "Let me repeat," Randy Hendricks said. "Houston, Boston, New York. Only three teams will be picked from if he plays. And he hasn't decided."
I think that's pretty clear. And since the linked article appears on Astros.com with a picture of Roger in an Astros jersey, is it fair to assume that Houston is still the front-runner? I really wish Clemens would hurry up and just make a choice. I know it's a little hypocritical to complain about his inability to pick about a team as I literally write an entire blog post dedicated to him, but sheesh, even Brett Favre's made up his mind for next year already.

I believe where he started was with the Red Sox's .He will end there with the new ownership .They still not have retired his jersey and they have not issued it to no one else since his departure.

Sorry, but moist people in StL don't want the fading rocket. Steroids prolonged his career, but we're really not interested. Now...Aaron Heilman...yeah

Hey Roger, Can you say EVANDER HOLYFIELD. Who cares anymore Roger? The Cardinals have a team, Roger, there is no "I" in team. You are strictly out for Roger, and that is a shame, you were a great team player YEARS AGO.

Being a New Englander and an avid Red Sox fan I don't want Clemens back. Once a Yankee always a Yankee. He just wants to play for a winning team and doesn't care about the team itself. Go play with Damon.

Roger is a great player, but he doesn't need the money. With him, I think it is all about the attention. Houston will offer him 20 million, plus they have the one thing he wants, a chance to play in the bigs with his son.

Hasn't it occured to anyone that Clemens cost the Astros a playoff berth last year with his prima donna attitude? If he's so interested in being on a winning team, why doesn't he show up when everyone else does? Has anyone ever been so blatantly selfish?

roger clemens is still one of the greatest pitchers in baseball, PERIOD. if he so chooses to return, any team in major league baseball does need his caliber of player on their team. we don't see to many greats playing today that will play only "for the love of the game".

Don't "hate" appreciate!!! Roger still has it going on, and let's face it, he still has it going on, regardless of what you sore losers have to say. I can already hear you Earnest & Julio Gallo kids whinning now, when Roger puts on the pinstripes....the rest of us will have to put on ear plugs...

THE ROCKET MAY END UP WITH THE YANKEES BUT I THINK IT WILL BE HIS LAST HURRAH AND THAT HE WILL RETIRE AFTER THIS SEASON.
ROGER WAS AND IS A GREAT PITCHER BUT ALL THE GREATNESS IN THE WORLD CAN'T OVERCOME THE AGE FACTOR
IN SPORTS.
