Yup, he sure did. I've been critical of the man before, but hey, after hitting three homers, knocking in seven RBIs and batting .452 so far this spring, he probably deserves it. Here are some of the particulars after Sosa made the 40-man roster Thursday:The move nearly assures Sosa of making the 25-man roster for opening day unless he gets hurt. He will be guaranteed $500,000 for making the 40-man roster, and he can earn an additional $2.2 million in performance bonuses based on plate appearances. While Sosa now sets his sights on hitting 600 homers, let's not forget about another record he's creeping up on. Sosa sits at second all-time in career strikeouts with 2,194 - trailing strikeout king Reggie Jackson by 403. Just throwing that out there.
"I've been impressed with the adjustments he's made the last week or 10 days," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. "It's hard to make evaluations on spring training, but when that's all you've got, you trust yourself and you trust your people."
The move was not yet official because other personnel shifts were necessary.

Forget baseball! I'm just thrilled to see that Sammy miraculously has rediscovered how to speak English!
The last time I saw him, he was stammering his way through that congressional hearing. Kinda nifty how his recall of the language suddenly has reappeared.
