We May As Well Just Hand A-Rod The AL MVP Trophy

Sweet Jesus is Alex Rodriguez ever on a tear.

He just blasted his second walk-off homer of the season -- a three-run bomb with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Yankees an 8-6 win in New York against the Indians. And now it's time for some statistics:
By homering for the third straight game, Rodriguez increased his major league-leading totals to 10 homers and 25 RBIs.

.............

Rodriguez matched Albert Pujols (last year) and Luis Gonzalez (2001) for the second-fastest to 10 homers behind Mike Schmidt (12 games in 1976), according to the Elias Sport Bureau. A-Rod is the first player with two game-ending homers this early in the season since Philadelphia's Pat Burrell had two in the first nine games in 2002.
Like I said, the man is on a serious tear at the moment. Personally, I've never been an A-Rod hater and I think New York fans have been overly harsh on the guy. But, this is what you expect when you play for the Yankees. I'm sure Rodriguez knew that when he signed with them.

And with Rodriguez in position to leave the squad this offseason, It might be a fitting final chapter if A-Rod continues to keep this up and then gives New York the finger by peacing out to somewhere else. Or, he'll just stay there, win a championship and have Yankee-haters like him and the team even less.

Your pick, really.
