Josh Beckett Can't Spell Emphatic

At the very least, he doesn't make a convincing case for his abilities in rhetoric. This video, in which Jonathan Papelbon institutes the rule that you shouldn't be able to use a word in conversation that you don't know how to spell -- a great rule, by the way -- is a fantastic little snippet of the rote conversation that apparently takes place frequently in the land of the Red Sox.

Not sure when this is, or why this conversation was recorded, but I'm glad it was. The way manager Terry Francona takes all of this in, and promptly asks the same question you'll be asking after you just watched the video, is perhaps the funniest part of the whole exercise. Enjoy.
