I've always wanted a tattoo, but I've never gotten one because I couldn't make up my mind what it should be. It'd have to be cool, something I'd be proud to show my grandchildren some day. Apparently that's where Justin Miller (this one, not this one) and I differ. Miller, who has so many tattoos on his arms that Major League Baseball makes him wear long sleeves so he doesn't distract batters, subscribes to a quantity over quality approach:
Tattooed on the newest Marlin's buttocks is the phrase: "I (heart) Billy Koch." Koch, a former reliever who spent time with the Marlins, paid Miller $1,000 plus picked up the $80 tab from Mom's Tattoos in Dunedin before the 2004 season for the advertisement. Koch felt so bad for Miller's wife, Jessica, for "having to see it every day," that he gave Jessica an additional $500.Actually, that's not a funny remark, Justin. That's a very serious question: What is wrong with you? The silver lining, though, is that he only has to explain that one to a select few people -- and I'm guessing his grandkids won't be on that list.
"It gets some funny remarks, like, 'What is wrong with you?' '' Miller said.

I always wanted a tattoo of a butt with a butt-shaped tattoo on it on my butt.
Everybody is different. I think tattoos are disgusting. Maybe,it looks cool on some young folks to some other young folks???? But that same young woman is going to be a mom and a grandmother some day and it looks horrible. I have received an irrevokable promise from my kids that they will never get a tattoo and from my son that he will never wear earrings. When I was a kid, my mother, my sister and my girlfriend wore earrings. Dick Butkus and hank Aaron did not. In fact, tattooing began as a demonic ritual in ancient times. Prohibited in the Old Testament. Research it.
The Old Testament also condoned slavery and forbids you from eating meat with cheese on it. I personally wouldn't tattoo a name on my body (although I do have tattoos); I clicked the link expecting that the $1000 went to a charity of Miller's choice or something like that.
I was in the Navy during the mid 60s. I've seen tattoos, that I know were regreted some time after. Most of the sailors that had tats did so on a dare or while inebriated. One that I remember vividly, was a Chain (Big Links)around the neck. It was as high up as possible, only way to hide most of it was to ware a Turtle neck. Another was Two Rats having intercourse on someone's calf. It got him thrown off the beach in Hawaii. As for myself, never got one.
Yeah, it's pretty silly to get any name inked on yourself, but I really don't trust the bible as an accurate historical text. I sincerely doubt it was first used in demonic rituals, though I certainly do believe it has been used for that purpose.
Some people don't want them, others do. Freedom of expression. Even if the expression looks like crud and is absolutely stupid.
I personally have 20 tattoos, some of them look like crap and I'm working on getting them covered with something that is actually art instead of hack work. It's just another form of creativity and self expression. It doesn't hurt anyone except the guy with the needles in his skin. And he probably likes it!
I personally think tattoos are okay as long as they don't offend anyone. As an employer, I will say this. If I have 2 candidates for a job and one has tattoos showing above collars...on arms etc. and the other one doesn't, I'm likely to hire the one without the tattoos. I think it's something the young are going to regret as they progress with their lives and need to be presentable to a wider variety of acquaintances.
Skin is beautiful, tattoos are ugly. If one wants a tattoo, use the temps. You can wear what you like, when you like, change it up and, best of all, no remorse.
i bet everyone that says young people will regret their tattoos. don't have tattoos of their own.
i've got two full sleeves. a college education from penn state. and am the head of public relations for a minor league baseball team. i have never had any problems with my tattoos (in regards of the working world.) in fact. i get new compliments on them everyday.
why don't you bible readers do it in a bible class.you shouldn't debate things that are on someone else,s body because it really is none of your business. the bible also says thou shalt not covet thou neighbor possessions sound like you want a tattoo on your butt
comment from bill about tatooing...."Prohibited in the Old Testament. Research it."
Hey bill, might i suggest you actually research it!! What you are referring to is leviticus or levitical law. The word "tatoo" was not even around until centuries after the bible was written. It's a polynesian word discovered when an explorer found tribes making art on their bodies. what leviticus is referring to is a death ritual performed by the jews. when someone died they would cut their flesh and rub ashes into the wound making a mark, or "tatoo" in modern translations of the bible. The levitical law was designed to keep the children of isreal clean and healthy. The modern form of tatooing either did not exist in biblical times or had yet to be discovered. I suggest you get your facts straight before quoting God's word, you make Christians look bad when you misquote the bible to suit your opinion!!!!
just a thought - i have never heard folks with tatoos criticize other folks for NOT having them.
