There was a time when I didn't think Frank Thomas could do it. My White Sox had left him for dead. He was feuding with GM Ken Williams through the media. But, the A's gave him a chance. He responded last year, to the tune of 39 homers and 114 RBIs. And, although he hasn't been all too great this season with the Blue Jays, he still just became the 21st player in MLB history to hit 500 home runs.
Thomas hit a three-run shot in the first inning, connecting against Minnesota's Carlos Silva and sending a 1-2 pitch an estimated 396 feet into the left-field stands.Congrats, Big Hurt. Somewhere, Fred McGriff is probably a little jealous.
The Metrodome crowd responded with a standing ovation for the two-time AL MVP. Thomas, as is his way, kept his head down as he rounded the bases. Toronto players spilled out of the dugout to congratulate him.

Frank will always be my favorite player of all time in any sport. Great to see him get #500.
I've never been to Cooperstown, but I will definitely be making my first trip there for the day he gets inducted.

Congrates to the Frank. As fans we luved you in that great black and silver sox uni and still love you as a player no matter where you hit thos long balls.Kenny screwed you over and thats why lots of sox fans don't like him. They let the face of the organization for over a decade just slide away for wshat?Thome who is hurt just as much if not more, gave away Rowand in the deal and paid cash.Anyways Big Hurt cant wait to see you go into to Cooperstown (not to soon though you got some years of playing left to go) and I thank you as a sox fan for all the years of exciting home runs and fond memories.Frank is a white sox legend forever.

Congrat to Big Frank, I was at the game today and even though I'm not a big fan of his, that was a great accomplishment and a classy move by the Metrodome crowd to give him a standing ovation

Congrats Mr. Thomas your a class act. Had it not been for the injuries you would have hit 600-700 homers during your career. Either way your going to be headed to Cooperstown in about 6 to 7 years.
