Ken Griffey Jr. Will Put a Cow in Your Office

Seriously, don't test him. Just ask Lou Piniella:

Never, ever lose a bet to Ken Griffey Jr. The outfielder pays off, but in strange ways -- like the time manager Lou Piniella won a bet with him during spring training when both were in Seattle.
"It was batting practice, and I had three swings left," Griffey said. "Lou bet me a steak that I couldn't hit a home run to each field on those three swings. I hit one to right and I hit one to center, but I missed the one to left. So I paid up."

Oh, did he. Piniella got his steak on the hoof. Griffey had a live cow put in Piniella's office while he was gone, "And when he walked in, there was the cow and some other stuff the cow had left after lifting its tail, plus he had slobbered everywhere. Lou got sick."

Then there was the time Griffey filled Piniella's office with lambs, but that's another story.

For some reason, the author of that Dayton Daily News story doesn't include the lambs escapade, a crime that should be considered some sort of journalistic malpractice. Anyway, in case you were wondering: yes, Ken Griffey Jr. will put farm animals in your immediate workspace. Do not make bets with him that involve any sort of food product whatsoever.

Come back to Seattle Griffey! We love you here, always have, and always will.

We've always made it a tradition to build stellar players here then send them elsewhere, but I think Griffey persists to this day as the loss which stung the fans the most. We appreciated your A Rod's, Randy Johnson's, etc. for their talent but Griffey was so much more to this town.

That's probably why we all believed that Griffey left to play with his father @ the Reds, and didn't leave for the money like A Rod or Randy Johnson, and that's why he get's a standing ovation when he comes back to town, and A Rod get's booed for his 150 million Yankees sellout. Whether or not that's true, we don't really know, but I want to believe it.

I think Seattle fans would be overjoyed to see Griffey come back, and we could sure use the power in our lineup, Sexson is just not cutting the mustard as our power on the lineup.

-remember Griffey's time with out team as the highlight of my baseball experience. I heard rumors he wanted to be traded back....but those are probably unsubstantiated, and I'm probably just thinking wishfully.

I may live in Las Vegas now, but I am a DIEHARD Mariner's fan. PLEASE COME BACK TO THE MARINERS, KEN. I can't think of anything better than getting Griffey back.
