It's been a month since Rod Beck passed away, and while the medical examiner is still waiting to receive the toxicology report to determine the exact reason of death, it's looking like there's a good chance cocaine was involved:A police report released Tuesday indicated evidence in several places at Beck's house, including the bathroom and the master bedroom in which the 38-year-old Beck, a three-time All-Star who saved 286 games, was found dead at his northeast Phoenix home on June 23. ...It's unfortunate, but given Beck's reputation as a guy who liked to party, it's not completely surprising. Since his death, Beck's house has been put up for sale, and earlier today Red Sox Monster stumbled across a YouTube slideshow of the place put together by a real estate agent. It's a little sad watching the video knowing the man died in the building, but if you're looking for property in Arizona and have $6.5 million to spare, I guess it could be yours.
Police also found a loaded semiautomatic handgun in a bag containing numerous glass bowl pipes and torch lighters. ...
The police report said Beck called his personal assistant, Tina Buchanan, at 11:57 a.m. on June 23 and asked her to come to his home because he was not feeling well. When Buchanan arrived, she found Beck lying on the master bedroom floor "not breathing and unresponsive," the report said.
Buchanan later told officers "Beck used cocaine on a daily basis, but she did not know the quantity he was using," the report said. "Beck has had seizures in the past and has recently suffered from hallucinations. The hallucinations were possibly caused by his cocaine use."

Get your head out of the sand, All American ... Count me among the majority who wanted to know how Beck died ... Maybe there is a lesson in here for all you kiddies out there -- use cocaine every day and you die ... that's life, and death ... Looking at Beck's house, it doesn't appear that $6.5 million buys what it used to ...

LET'S GET THE STORY STRAIGHT
Rod suffered from -METHICILLIN-RESISTANT STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS ( M.R.S.A)
Buchanan later told officers "Beck used cocaine on a daily basis, but she did not know the quantity he was using," the report said. "Beck has had seizures in the past and has recently suffered from hallucinations. The hallucinations were possibly caused by his cocaine use."
This paragraph is not what was told to police. The true story is Rod has been going to several different doctors since April and has been very sick with a staff infection called M.R.S.A. Rod has been on several different antibodics. He has been in pain since he has been in the hospital last year due to this deadly staff infection. Only from taking Rod to the doctors I found out he had done cocaine. Not now, but in his past. He was honest and wrote it down. It asks "Have you EVER done any street drugs?"I said nothing, about Rod doing anything on a daily basis. This needs to be clarified.
For the comment who said "Great Personal assistant.." The night before I was at Rod's house and there was nothing around. So they had to search if they even found anything.
When you find your employer and your best friend for thirteen years dead. You call 911, and then they tell you to turn him around. I would never want anyone ever to go through this.I see Rods face every minute of the day. I will see Rods face for the rest of my life.
I watched my best friend go through an operation on both arms caused by M.R.S.A, Hospitalized for ten days with vancomycin medication through IV,wrapped his bandages for him 5 times a day, took him to every doctor appointment. He was always in pain, but would never complain. He would tell me that "he wasn't feeling good" towards the end. My husband and I were there every night with Rod. I would go home after Rod would go to sleep and be back there before he woke up because I cared and was so worried about the way his legs and face were swelling up.
Rod was great human being to everyone and never ever had a bad word to say about anyone.
He loved baseball, now that he was retired. He was getting on with his life. He called himself an actor. He said, "he acted while he was pitching,so I could act for a movie". He played as "Reggie" in a movie "work week". Release still pending.
I miss Rod so much, and will cherish every memory I had with Rod. He will always be in my heart and soul. Tina Buchanan
