LeBron James knows better than any of us: There is no way the Cleveland Indians can overcome the dynastic onslaught of the New York Yankees. I mean, even if we win all of the games they're still moving on in the playoffs, and everyone in Cleveland will have to go back to watching Drew Carey and dying in the burning river or whatever it is we do here.
I, for one, support our new ant overlords. More after the jump.

**Online Host Karl Ravech** Up next on Baseball Tonight, a segment we like to call, TALKING ABOUT THE BASEBALL GAMES
/crazy graphics
Last night in game one of the AL Divisional Playoffs, the Cleveland Indians scored 12 runs on 14 hits to defeat the New York Yankees by 9. Does this mean the Yankees lost game one?
DontFireEric: Absolutely not. /talks over some highlights
The New York Yankees have played consistently great baseball all year and are always a force, I just don't think that they'd have a game where they lost by 9 runs.
DontFireEric: Impact players like A-Rod and Jeter are set to come alive, and I think when they actually play game one for real you'll see a different outcome. |
LandPhill: Y'know you're absolutely right, this year Chien-Ming Wang had 19 wins and an ERA of 3.70, I could sit here and list off statistics for this guy all day! And I will. WHIP 1.29, 0 saves, 350 strikeouts, 22 complete games, 430 strikeouts... |
LandPhill: C.C. Sabathia on the otherhand is an overweight, unattractive man, and you know, I just don't think he's going to bring his A-game |
DontFireEric: y'know you're absolutely right, there's nyoooo way Cleveland has the firepower to stop Wang, Joba Chamberlain, and Mariano Rivera Steve. |
LandPhill: y'know you're absolutely right
DontFireEric: y'know
LandPhill: I can't believe we're in agreement here, a huh! huh! Heyah! Huh! Clearly those highlights don't show the whole picture and y'know guys, 12-3 means nothing, wait until game one starts and talking point talking point talking point, guys.
**Online Host Karl Ravech** Said outfielder Johnny Damon, "Three losses and we're heading home. It would be too tough to overcome a deficit of 2-0 against this team." Your thoughts on this?
DontFireEric: Johnny Damon is a smart guy and one of the best hitters in the history of baseball, but he clearly don't understand how math works
LandPhill: y'know I agree with you there, I mean, what's this guy talking about! A 2-0 deficit? Three losses and they're heading home? What do these words mean!
DontFireEric: I don't know, when I don't know what words mean I just put in words like "gutsy performance" or "really focused on"
LandPhill: what Johnny Damon is saying here is that he's really getting focused on winning the World Series for the Bronx Bombers this year, and after his gutsy performance in completing a paragraph full of sentences, he just might be right
DontFireEric: It's just too late for the Cleveland Indians to make an impression
LandPhill: lol oh my god i know, I've been saying that since August
**Online Host Karl Ravech** Thank you Steve Phillips, thank you uh, Bip Roberts? Up next on Baseball Tonight, a segment we like to call HEY, REMEMBER THE PHILLIES?

**Online Host Karl Ravech** hey I really like your user photo
KrukThePolice: thanks, I had to stand way back
**Online Host Karl Ravech** In the National League Divisional Series the Colorado Rockies are up two games to none on the Philadelphia Phillies. What do you think the chances are of the Phillies regrouping and coming back with a victory in game three?
KrukThePolice: y'know, I played for the Yankees for six years and I know how the organization works from the inside out, and y'know I just don't think they've enough of a chance to make an impression
KrukThePolice: i'm gonna say the boston red sox take it in three, karl |

What was worse was the TBS broadcasting. Chip Caray mentioned repeatedly that the Yankee offense was, quote, "unstoppable" and that they would, quoting again, "score runs no matter what". I could have sworn I heard Tony Gwynn say that a six-run lead wasn't large enough a gap for the Yankees to overcome, too. Great stuff, B.

I'll say it again, I hate the Yankees for this exact reason and wish the national media would collectively remove their mouths from the Yankee dick.
They have a great offense fine, but their pitching sucks and they're not going to win the world series without two dominant starters, or even one really.

Great Dugout--even for a Yankees fan like me. Having the bunch of yahoos(with the exception of Gammons and Kurkjian, who rule)that pass for much of ESPN's baseball coverage kissing the Yankees' ass is like the kiss of death. I'm hoping they jump off the bandwagon soon.
By the way, anyone know why the braintrust at TBS has Don Orsillo covering the Phillies/Rockies series instead of his regular team, the Red Sox? I would think it would be logical for an announcer who regularly calls a team's games to call them in the postseason. At least he'd have their names right--if I have to hear Chip Caray call Hideki Matsui "Kaz" one more time, I'm going to break something.

What a bunch of arrogant delusional a-holes. It's obvious that Phill and Eric were not watching the same game the rest of America was. Phill and Eric need to get off of Jeter and A-chokes jockstrap. Sabathia and Carmona are CY Young candidates. The Yankees are a 200 million dollar mess with no starting pitching. A good offense does not equal a championship good starting pitching does. Phill and Eric are haters, nauseating, and the comments they made about CC were classless. The Tribe kicked some Yankee a** and made a 200 million dollar team look stupid. Go Tribe!

"And the comments they made about CC were classless."
You are speaking, of course, about the fictitious quotes, right? Yes, they were classless and out of line.

wow, i really, really hope simone seriously thinks these are the real people having a real chat - and , even more, that all the other fanhouse commenters think the same. that would be an INCREDIBLE opportunity for the dugout to start working on numerous levels over here at fanhouse.
on the other hand, maybe simone is right and farnsy and dmitri really were that e'crazy all along.

yes I am talking about the way they were out of line about the fictitious comments that were made about CC. It went too far. Personal apperance has nothing to do with how someone competes on the field.
