Sometimes, we all say things we don't mean. Maybe you get in a fight with your loved one, and maybe you accidentally disclose your feelings about that loved one's suddenly bulbous lovehandles. You don't mean it, and immediately regret saying it ... but there it is, hanging out in the ether until everyone can just get over it and move on. Aubrey Huff feels that pain: In an interview with Bubba the Love Sponge (one of the great thinkers of our time) he called Baltimore a "horse---" city. Naturally, Bawlmers everywhere are pretty furious:
Huff's appraisal came after the discussion turned to nightlife in the Tampa, Fla., area, and how much Huff indulged in it while he was single and playing for the Devil Rays.I've heard the exact opposite about Baltimore of late -- revitalization seems to have provided a booming nightlife -- but regardless, Huff should know better. Whether it's a slow news day or not (it is), people are going to be offended when you insult their city on a nationally broadcast shock jock show.
"If anybody's heard their show, or Howard Stern's show, it's a shock jock show, so everything's flying," Huff said yesterday. "You've got four guys in there, including me, and we're talking about all sorts of stuff, including bars and restaurants, and how the two cities are different. I said Baltimore was horses - - for that. After games, places are closed down. There's no place to go."
"I said it in such passing, so quickly, and it was gone. I didn't say the city itself was horses - -. The next day, my buddy called me and said people were livid. I said, 'No way! It must be a slow news day in Baltimore.' I walked out of there saying it was a good show. I kept it pretty clean."
In the meantime, maybe Huff can make it up to Baltimore by improving his performance on the field. Less concern for the nightlife might be a pretty good start.

GET A LIFE.. IF YOU ARE THIS UPSET ABOUT WHAT SOME MULTI MILLIONAIRE SAID TO A SHOCK JOCK WHILE HALF IN THE WRAPPER YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE CITY AROUND YOU AND WORRY ABOUT REAL ISSUES
Here we go again. People are getting worked up over nothing at all while taking his "horsecrap" city out of context. He said B'more is a horsecrap city because there is no place to party at 3:15 in the morning.
He was a few sheets to the wind when he made his tongue in cheek comments.
As for your "Bubba the Love Sponge (one of the great thinkers of our time)" comments means that you have probably never even listened to his show.
Now feel free to run off and get back to your "Hillary in '08" blog.
