MLB Poetry Previews: Colorado Rockies

As part of our season preview, FanHouse asked bloggers from around the internet to write a poem previewing their team's upcoming season in a series entitled MLB Poetry Previews. It's like high school English class, except about baseball!

For today's poem, we remain in house and wonder: Can the Rockies pull off another division win in 2008?

The Rockies made quite a splash in 2007
To have such success must have felt like heaven

The big question in everyone's brain:
Can they repeat in '08 and continue their reign?

Twas wise not to trade everyone away
They kept their great core -- Tulo, Atkins, and Holliday

Management chose not to make many changes
Fans' confidence in the team -- well, that ranges

Some folks view last year's success as a fluke
They had enough strokes of good luck to make Padres fans puke

A strong start this year is gonna be key
Jumping ahead quick is vital, you'll see

Their main obstacle isn't talent or luck
It's the division they're in that might make them stuck

To win the NL West is a task very tough
Topping the Padres this year will be even more rough

Methinks the division's in for another tight race
Watch out Pads, Dodgers and Snakes: The Rocks will surely keep pace!
