Roommate: McCready Was 17, Not 15, When She Met Clemens

Mindy McCreadyBecause I know you've been on the edge of your seat waiting for the latest Roger Clemens/Mindy McCready news, here it is: the Ft. Myers News-Press reports that McCready's former roommate, Jennifer Sirbaugh, swears that McCready was 17 when she first met Clemens, not 15 as originally reported, and that she was with McCready when they first met Clemens in 1993:
"I remember Roger arriving on a boat with some teammates,'' Sirbaugh says. "I found him to be extremely arrogant and insufferable, but Mindy was taken with him.''
McCready allegedly went back to Clemens' hotel room later that night and didn't return to the apartment she shared with Sirbaugh until the next morning:
"She arrived home mid-morning claiming they had not had sex,'' Sirbaugh says, "but that Clemens had left a $100 bill on a bedside table for her, presumably to get a cab home.''
What a sweet guy -- nothing says class like money on the nightstand. As Brooks points out, I'm not sure if the "17 vs 15 argument" really matters -- it's still inappropriate to spend the night with a minor, right? I guess at the very least he's no Karl Malone. And now back to your hopefully more relevant sports news ... (via BallHype)
