Video Confirmation: The Rays and Red Sox Really Do Hate Each Other

The story: As retaliation for a questionable slide Wednesday, James Shields hits Coco Crisp. Coco Crisp doesn't like that. Coco Crisp attacks James Shields. And then things get, in the words of my man Will, totally brahsome.

Coco starts punching, the benches clear, Akinori Iwamura pounds the undercarriages of unidentified Red Sox with repeated jabs -- it was a great brawl. Satisfying stuff. Don't expect the rivalry to dissipate soon, either: Shields says he "lost all respect" for Crisp on Wednesday, and Crisp claims the Rays were "like little girls, trying to scratch out my eyes."

This is going to get better before it gets worse. I can't wait.

I always rooted for Carl Crawford because of his affiliation with a certain baseball program.

However, after watching him run in from left field and kneeling on the ground to throw punches at the head of a guy buried under three other players, he has shown what a coward he is with that despicable act.

Pathetic.

The comment by 'oldpatfan' is dead on. Squaring off with someone is one thing. Pummelling someone in the head who's being held down by two other people is gutless and reprehensible behavior anywhere and the kind of thing that ought to make him the target of some high, inside pitching next time these teams meet. It's going to be interesting.

thinking of coco [mini-manny-me] crisp reminds me of two things ;

1/ that old children's saw , "monkey see , monkey do" !

2. that line from 'forrest gump' , "stupid is as stupid does" !

by the way , the one act play , "manny being manny" has grown old and tired ; time to grow up . that forrest gump line is starting to apply to ms. ramirez too .

Boston has been around forever and they show every year they're nothing more than dirty street punks. Baseball, football, Boston Fans.......they're all nuts!!! Anytime, they're out to win, they show what a bunch of mean spirited brats they are. Ask the Yankees!!
