Sorry I wasn't around for this, because if I had been, I would have been quick to point out that before we assume the Tigers are ready to take the world by storm again that most of their recent success came against the National League.
As did the Twins.
I think we'll know more about both teams as they resume facing American League competition, in particular the Central where the Tigers are 10-19.
Though, while I think the Sox will win the division, I echo your thoughts that they aren't winning the World Series. They would if they got there, but they won't.
