So naturally, when Corey Hart won the National League's extra All Star bid, his teammates bumrushed the podium and drenched him in beer. The problem: he was holding his small daughter in his arms the entire time. As Awful Announcing said, these guys might "take some heat" for this one.
Because, really, it's all fun and games until small children get drunk by osmosis. And it's not like his daughter was hiding -- she's sitting there in bright, contrasting colors on his lap. Slam on the freaking brakes, people.
Seriously, someone on the Brewers is going to have to answer for this. The organization can really only hope it was all Ned Yost's idea.

If it's the Brewers...and it's a bad idea....you can bet your sweet Brinsony ass it was Ned Yost's idea.
This is Milwaukee we are talking about, she was probably already a little tipsy before the beer shower.
"drunk by osmosis" haha thats good writing
Of course it was beer...the nickel-and-dimers in Milwaukee are too cheap to spring for champagne.
no we are not too cheap to spring for champagne...why should we when the beer tastes so much better than some of the "stuff" out there that attempts to be called champagne...
on a hot summer night-do you want to drink a long necked cold one or a bubbly thing that can never satisfies you.
baseball and beer just go together...the day my beloved brewers staff call out "champagne" instead of "beer here" i will know that it is the end of the world as we know it. and, i will be looking for the 4 horsemen.
Who cares? Why was she on his lap to begin with? This is baseball, not gymboree.
She was sitting on his lap because (a) she's his daughter, and (b) it was a special moment for Daddy.
And, no, idiot, it's not baseball, it's a press conference. Does it look like they're out on the field with their uniforms and equipment?
because hes a proud father and because she loves him and wanted to be on his lap.gymboree class involves children jumping and climbing.she wasnt on the field and it was a press conference atmosphere.not the locker room.the fact remains that she was on his lap and the team knew this and kept charging as if her safety and well being didnt matter.there could have been a better time to shower the man in beer!
How ridiculous and immature of the players - at least it showed dad trying to protect his daughter - it probably scared her more than made her tipsy - sorry guys, it was totally inappropriate to do that with her on his lap whether or not the camera was rolling.
What a bunch of morons!
alright all you cubs fans, if you didnt notice, she didnt get beer on her, her father stood up and turned his back to the "beer shower". its not like she was sittin there at the press conference sippin on a miller lite!
not cool at all. She's what 2-3 yrs old?
No one ever said that pro athletes were rocket scientists, but this took moronic behavior to a new level
Baseball players are stupid
who cares, shes a woman
Wow must be a VERY slow news day for you. I see no problem with it but this is the easily offended era so someone like you will moan and groan about it.
The Brewers probably got their beer from Shotz Brewery... oh wait that was Lavernne and Shirley... sorry for the confusion...
Totally Inappropriate. What were they thinking. Maybe it should be asked, what was he thinking? If he knew this would happen he should not have had the kid there. If he thought it would stop them, obviously he was wrong. And Brewers management should have a talk with them.
I don't care if Daddy stood up and turned his back in an effort to protect his daughter from getting soaked, it was totally inappropriate for those guys to douse daddy with any liquid while he had his baby on his lap. And it definitely was not inappropriate for daddy to have his little girl at the game, you moron, it is totally American to take your children to to the game, especially if her daddy is one of the players. The festivities should definitely have waited until the little girl was not present. Just immature jerks!
That was horrible. What a bunch of jerks - jerks who obviously wanted camera time or they could have waited til he was off the air and without his daughter to have dumped the beer.
