Manny Ramirez said he loved Boston when he played in Boston. After about ten minutes in LA, he proclaimed that LA was his favorite city ever and he never wanted to play anywhere else. To be honest, I'm not particularly certain that Manny even knows where Manny wants to be or where he's going to be in 2009. The New York Post, however, thinks that Manny is planning his next stop in the Bronx: The Yankees have always seemed like the most likely destination for Manny in 2009, but more because of his ties to New York and the ability of the Yankees to pay him the kind of money he wants. He's upset with the Red Sox now, but is he upset enough to sign with the Yankees just to spite them if the Dodgers put more money on the table? I'd be pretty surprised if that turns out to be the case.According to people who have spoken to the eccentric outfielder since he was dealt to L.A. on July 31, Ramirez wants to sign a free-agent deal with the Yankees this offseason and get 19 chances a year to punish Boston.
"He wants to play for the Yankees so he can get at the Red Sox," a close friend of Ramirez's told The Post.

As a Yanks fan, my first gut response was the inner child within me jumping gleefully in joy....someone with that power wanting to get BACK at the evil nation! As I came back to earth and my senses, the niggling rumor that Manny's "sit out" the last week or so of his stay in Boston may have been orchestrated by Boras, I thought...whoa Nelly...do we need another head case client of Boras's in this locker room?! As much as I dislike the BoSux, I was actually advocating Youk and few of his other teammates taking Manny into one of the stalls at the stadium and put a whipping on him for the way he acted by not working for that 20 million he was already making for this year! I have come to the place where I can contend with the superstars on this team, but crybabies and squirrels I can do without....plus...can Hank get him to cut his hair?

I would have liked Manny to join the Yanks about 5 years ago. Now, I'm not so sure. Mega-bucks for a 37 year old outfielder/DH? We have enough of those...

Manny would have to cut his hair to join the Yankees. Is he willing to do that?

mannys big mouth probaly will get him his ticket out of baseball no other team in thier right mind would or should pay him to flop around in the outfield like he did in boston he is lucky his bat carried him this far because it sure isnt his great work in the field he should give his first born to the redsox for keeping for as long as they did .

I don't care where Manny goes. He works hard in the weight room, but is lazy on the field. He can hit, but can't run. I would love to see him play for a last place team somewhere...however, if the Yankees want to overspend for the headcase...all the power to them. The Yankees suck, and they need more than Manny Ramirez.

Ace if you were a real yankee fan you would know this 1 thing. The New York Yankees are known as the "evil empire" not evil nation.
As far as Manny becoming a yankee i would say no if i was the gm. I would go after Mark Texeria and K-Rod.

Hey brian, I was refering to Boston as the "evil nation"-it's a spin that I and other REAL Yankee fans around here refer to the BoSux as. We are quite aware of the "evil empire" tag give to the Yankees by the BoSux GM as millions of "real" and "non-real" yankee fans know also. Hell even my dog knows about the "evil empire" reference -it's funny how some of you who don't know squat about another person try to get a dig in about who is a "real fan" of one team or another.

As much as I would like to see this guy get a shave and a haircut (and perhaps a shower....hehe), it would be a horrible thing for the Yankees. Manny is an aging headcase. The Yanks don't need the distraction.

The Dodgers have a rule about long hair? Well, it's been two weeks since Manny was been traded to the team and he still has long hair. What's up with that Joe?
I get such a kick out of these so called "businessmen" who own ball clubs. If someone in their regular line of work didn't toe the line, you sure as hell wouldn't see them around for too long. What cowards!

God help us all if he comes to the Yankees. Aa a lifelong Yankee fan I realize what the team is doing this year, getting younger in the pitching and working youth into the lineup. We may not make the playoffs this year, but the LAST thing we need is an aging head case who can't play the outfield. If this was 2002, I might feel differently, even though I didn't want Manny then either, but for 2009-2012? I hope baby Steinbrenner doesn't pull a George from circa 1988 and instead lets Cashman do his thing.

I totally agree with Ace. Manny was getting a boatload of money from the Sox to play this season. Manny decided to shut it down. Does anyone think that won't factor into his next contract negotiation?

I am a big fan with the yankees. i know everything about them. Manny was a red sox player. Now that he left to the dodgers that wont change anything. ONCE A RED SOX PLAYER ALWAYS A RED SOX PLAYER. Taking him to the yankees would mess up the rivalry and tension between the two teams

hey ace, brian and ever who else..........i got it immediately. sorry brian.........but just wait until my team gets through getting rid of their complete pitching staff................yep, the indians. first, c.c., and now..... byrd flies to boston........and of course, lee will be leaving shortly. i've been a cleveland fan since 1950. they trade or give away all players that do well and will demand a chunk of change to remain there. Maybe, all the farm players can win for nothing for them. GO INDIANS. LOL

The Yankees need PITCHERS, PITCHERS, PITCHERS.
1 outfielder, Melky Cabrera, disappointment.
Drop Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, Andy Pettitte,Phil Hughes,
Edwar Ramirez, they had there chances.
P/U Manny for D/H, Yankees will definitely make the playoffs.
I`m sure Manny would play his last days like a true Yankee!!
Awesome lineup with Manny in there.
Just think Manny will would be playing in his old back yard Washington Heights.. If the Yankees don`t make the playoff in 2009 Steinbrenner needs to sell the team, I don`t like he`s
presents along with Brian Cashman.
