Every Monday, the MLB Weekly Rewind takes a look at the past week in baseball in video form. It's biased, rambling, and mostly cynical, but ... Hey! Moving pictures! Sweet!
You must be a Boston resident with way too much time on your hands. Enjoy the Sox, they are good, instead of finger pointing and predicting doom on the Yankees. Without the Yankees, the American league is not exciting and no rivalry exists and empty seats in other parks. It is in vogue today to knock them, but, they will be there in the end so be wary of the wounded animal. Tony
I'm watching the Yankees and Toronto tonight. A-Rod and Giambi are 0/6 with six strikeouts. How is that for $51,000,000 between the two of them. If they had any humility at all they would take themselves out of the game on grounds they can't get it done. No wonder the rest of the league and the fans laugh at them (Yankees) paying this kind of money for single A performance. It's a complete joke.
I do agree with you regarding Giambi. It is time to replace him. The other team's fans might be enjoying this year's results; but, in the back of their minds, there is always a doubt or apprehension about the Yankees, always will be. Their pitching has been an unexpected suprise. However, their team defense is lacking, timely hitting is missing, and the replacement subs not doing a good job. As a long time fan from the late fifties, I must admit that this team is not clicking. There are no O'Neills, Bernie's, Brosius, or Tinos in this group.Jeter is having a very sub-par season, Cano is overrated, Rodriguez, while having decent stats, is not doing the job, Molina is doing more than was advitised, Abreu is having a decent offensive season but is average defensively. Damon should retire along with Giambi. Matsui should not be playing with his bad knee. Give the young guys a shot--they might suprise. But, I don't think that the league is laughing at the Yanks, just relieved.
