Be advised, the following video contains salty language, in case you or your cubicle mates are easily offended:
That's from last night's Yankees/Red Sox game in New York (hat tip to Walkoff Walk), but it's especially fitting today on the heels of reading about over-aggressive cops enforcing the little known (err, non-existent) God Bless America Rule during the seventh inning stretch.
Did the mouthy fan cross the line by arguing a little too much? Perhaps. But did the female police officer escalate the situation by screaming and initiating physical contact? Absolutely. In a tense situation in the middle of a crowd of drunk fans chanting profanities, the last thing any experienced officer should be doing is making the situation worse. Both of those jokers should have been thrown out of the stadium.

Sorry, don't agree. The cop doesn't know what she's dealing with, and needs to control the situation, aggressively if necessary. This woman charges her, screaming profanities, and, while the cop may have made initial physical contact in an effort to back her off, the woman, in shouldering or elbowing the cop, made the first aggressive move. I grant you that the cop's handling of the issue may not have been exemplary, but the woman initiated the confrontation, refused to back off when instructed to, and I suspect will be found to have assaulted the cop. She's primarily responsible for the situation.

First of all....all Boston/New England fans should be arrested at least once just on principle alone! I have no problem with police removing these obnoxious loud mouths whenever they feel like it. In fact........that goes double for Obama followers too!

What is the situation were reversed between the two women? God, I hate to say this, but Rev Al would be on Hannity & Colmes tonight complaining about the situation and trying to start something about it being a race thing.

Matt, you know nothing about police work and might be half blind. When the female cop turned on the woman it was to exert some authority due to the fan's behavior not the cops. The fan than anitiated further contact and was hooked as she probably already should have been.
Mess with the police and talk smack to them and better be prepared for a response. In 30 years people who talked trashed to me were not treated nicely, goes with the job.

I thought all Red Sox fans were mouthy. As far as the fan, I thought you were going to show comedian Dennis Leary who complains about the Yankees 26 world championships. Red Sox fans are also not very good at math. 26>greater than two. To translate that Red Sox fans, 26 (world championships that the Yankees have) is greater than two (the ones the Red Sox won in 2004 and 2007). Even if the Yankees don't win it this year, we Yankee fans still love our Yankees.

From what ralphgmiami said, apparently Yankee fans are the ones not good with math nor history. Yes the Yankees have won 26 world championships. But the Sox didn't win two titles they've won 7 world championships, and yes 26 is greater than 7 but how about in the new Millenium. Yankees 1 (2000), Red Sox 2 (2004 and 2007) So I guess the proper math would be Red Sox 2 Titles > Yankee Titles 1. So before bad mouthing Red Sox fans make sure to get your facts straight so you don't make other Yankees fans look even more stupid.

Normally I would side with police, but that female cop took things personally. If the male cops could continue to do their jobs without mouthing off, then why couldn't the female cop? Just do your job, don't get into a shouting match with a drunk fan. The cop escalated this situation to what it was, and that can not be what they are supposed to do. This must be the incidence about not being able to leave durning the national anthem or they will kick you out. Your supposed to stand there and piss your pants if you don't want to be thrown out.

Does the concept that - yes sir/mam - is ALWAYS the order of the day when it comes to those in authority! Cops are not there to pick fights with citizens but they sure can enter one...and - must win it !!!
