Jason Giambi Got Beat Up By a Door

When Jason Giambi showed up at Tropicana Field on Wednesday night, his teammates and the media noticed a gash by his right eye. His eyelid was bruised and swollen, and he looked like he'd just stepped out of a boxing ring after getting beat up for twelve rounds.

So did Jason have a run-in at one of the finer drinking establishments in Tampa the night before? No, as it turns out, the only run-in the Giambino had was with the bathroom door in his hotel room.
Jason Giambi wishes he had a sexier story to explain the gash on the corner of his right eyelid that cause discoloring and swelling.

"I would like to have something to tell you, something like a fight or anything else," Giambi said. "But it was nothing like that. I walked into the bathroom door at the hotel and split it open.

"There was so much blood the maid probably was wondering where the body was hid."
When are athletes, and people in general, going to learn that you can't win in a fight with a door, a table, or any other inanimate object? They feel no pain, man. You, on the other hand, do. So if you feel the need to hit something, just do what I do. Find somebody a lot smaller than you, and kick the crap out of them.

It's incredibly therapeutic, and you don't hurt yourself in the process.
