For a while there, it was looking like we weren't going to have any exciting pennant races this September. About a week ago, all of the races were threatening to wrap themselves up neatly and leave us with a final weekend free of drama. Earlier tonight, we had a lot of NL drama. While all of the NL shenanigans were going on, the Twins were making sure at least one race in the AL is going down to the wire. It didn't always look like that. The White Sox breezed into Minneapolis this week with a 2 1/2 game lead in the AL Central. Even after they lost the first two games of the series, they were sitting pretty with a 6-1 lead tonight after a six run explosion in the top of the fourth. Things fell apart from there as the Twins were spurred on by a triple by Carlos Gomez in the fourth that scored a run and allowed him to score, then a two-run game-tying triple by Denard Span in the seventh, and finally a walk-off single by Alexi Cassilla in the eleventh.
After dropping three straight to the Twins, the White Sox head home to close out the season with three games against the Indians and a makeup against the Tigers, if necessary. The newly minted division leaders will stay at home in Minnesota to play the Royals. Yeah, the White Sox are in trouble.

I am a long time die hard White Sox fans and will stick by then to the end. But the last three days they did not look like they were hungry enough to want to capture their division. They didn't need to do too much, just win one game, but alas, Minnesota kicked their butts.

The Twins are a much better "baseball" team. The Sox are purely built on power, and that will be there demise. I find the Twins a very fun team to watch!! They just do it right. A small market team that has scored more runs then the Sox should be very proud of what they have achomplished even if they don't make the playoffs.....They over acheive every year!! Neither team will make it past the first round I feel, but it has made for exciting baseball!

I know it's a real longshot, but whenever the Twins have won the AL Championship they went on to win the World series. It may again prove that high salary does not always equal extraordinary talent.

WHAT A GREAT GAME!!! Who wanted it more? Are they the Twins of '87 or '91? Who knows? But these guys were amazing last night. It was so fun to watch them kick on the Sox. Hard to keep switching between the Twins and the USC/Oregon State game but how fun!!! These guys want it and THEY WILL GET IT!!! ROCK ON TWINS!!!

As a suffering Tigers fan. I have to admit the Twins are a awesome team to watch, they scratch and claw to score runs, and they do it quite often. The Twins will win the central, whether they go all the way remains to be seen. Anyhow I'm loyal to the AL, Central I will pull for the Twins.
PS. Sure wish Gardenshire was the Tigers Skipper. Lehland is so over-rated. Lifetime win/loss is way under 500 with alot of different clubs.
