Ned Colletti Laughs At Your Manny Rumors

Yesterday, the artist formerly known as Willie Balls and currently called Will Brinson told you about a report from SI's Jon Heyman saying the Dodgers were thinking of giving Manny Ramirez an offer of two years at about $27.5 million a year. In other words: A-Rod money. There was also a report in the New York Post on Friday that the Dodgers had already offered Manny a deal for two years and $60 million.

Unfortunately, nobody has told Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti about any of this yet. According to Ned the Dodgers haven't even begun figuring out what they want to offer Manny, and he laughs at all your silly rumors.
Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti laughed when asked about the reports this week detailing the kind of contract the team is thinking of offering or has offered Manny Ramirez.

The business of how hard the Dodgers should push to re-sign Ramirez isn't a laughing matter to Colletti and team owner Frank McCourt, who will probably be making the most important decision they've made as baseball executives.

"By the time we get through the weekend, there will be 15 more reports out there that I'll be laughing at," Colletti said.
Well, fifteen may be a bit much, but since I don't want Ned to look too stupid I'll help him out a bit. My sources -- and by sources I mean the voices in my head -- tell me that the Dodgers have offered Manny a three-year deal worth $100 million, and he'll also get a 40% ownership stake in the team. My sources also tell me to burn things.

As for the other fourteen reports, well I'll just let Scott Boras make those up like he did the first two.
