Randy Johnson still wants to pitch (at least) one more season in the majors, and several teams are interested in giving him a one-year contract. Mark down the Oakland Athletics as the latest team to show interest. According to Ken Rosenthal, the A's would like to slate Johnson as their fifth starter. At the moment, the A's top four starters are Justin Duchscherer, Dana Eveland, Gio Gonzalez and Sean Gallagher. None of them threw as many innings last season as Johnson did for the Diamondbacks - 184.It's not difficult to understand why Johnson wants another year. He's sitting at 295 career victories, not to mention the money he'll make and his obvious competitive fire.
It's not like there is nothing left in the tank for the Big Unit. He put together an above average ERA (3.91) last season to go with this 173 strikeouts and only 44 walks. He's not the same Unit who won five Cy Youngs and finished second another three times, but he's still got enough to help a team contend. His Hall of Fame resume is already complete, but the reaching the 300 win milestone would round it out quite nicely.
Looks like he could be doing so in Oakland. Stay tuned.

The big Unit now looks great compare to a Roger Clem, his stats are all real...
Still Randy in the American L, (Why do you think all the pitches want to play in the National L.) I don't know if he has much left.
How good was Nolan Ryan look now...
Whole career on crappy teams, pitching as long and as well as he did...
Nolan best ever...

I'd like to see the Red Sox sign Randy Johnson. Randy has one good year left and could win the World Series with the Red Sox along with winning over 300 games. The Boston fans would love him and he'd be happier in Boston than he ever was in NY.

I hope Kilroy gets Randy in boston, he can start after Curt S.
The American League East is too competitive, he belongs in the National League.
