I have a feeling this is about to become a trend. Thursday Albert Pujols took it upon himself to tell reporters in St. Louis that he'd sort of like it if his Cardinals took it upon themselves to make sure that Manny Ramirez finds a home before the season starts. I'm sure John Mozeliak loves hearing his best player play GM in the media when he's not around. This whole Manny thing just won't end. What I want to type in response to this story is, "Who WOULDN'T want Manny on their team?" The problem is that it's almost February and he doesn't have a job, which means that the answer to that question is pretty much everyone. Of course, that's what has Pujols so baffled in the first place and why the conversation even started.
Now, I know that Ramirez won't be signing in St. Louis, but think about the Cardinals for a second if he did. Putting Manny in the outfield would probably let them trade Rick Ankiel or Ryan Ludwick for starting pitching, and they'd still have whichever one they didn't trade, plus Manny Ramirez, plus the greatest hitter alive in Albert Pujols. With the Brewers failing to address their pitching problem, they'd probably finish in one of the top two slots in the NL Central and easily grab a playoff spot.
Really, just thinking of Pujols and Ramirez batting back-to-back for a full season is both terrifying and awesome to think about. The longer I type this post, the more I think that the Cardinals must do this. I mean, I know they don't want to spend the money, but COME ON! IT WOULD BE SOOOO COOOOOL! I mean, I think it would be awesome and I don't even like the Cardinals!
This is probably why I'll never be a general manager.

Manny will end up signing with the NY Yankees as a DH. Manny NG for NL, no DH. Manny would give up more runs in the OF as he would hit RBI's. Manny would fit in with NY and would drive Red Sox fans crazy, so Manny is perfect fit for NY. Manny will also fill in many of the overpriced Yankees Stadium seats

manny would be good for new york and he would do damage to the red soxs and enjoy doing it. It would be a hell of a line up with manny batting third. the opposing pitchers would have trouble going around batters to get out of a jam.Come on new york lets get manny for left field and win another world series ring. That's what it's all about.

I AM A LIFE LONG CARDINAL, CUT ME AND I BLEED RED, JUST A LITTLE HUMOR. WE HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN STARS, PROBLEM PLAYERS, AND ALL IN BETWEEN AND I PERSONALLY AGREE WITH ALBERT, SIGN MANNY JUST LIKE WE DID BIG MAC AND WIN A PENNANT. ST. LOUIS IS THE 'GREATEST' SPORTS TOWN BECAUSE THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN DRAMA,STRANGE DEALS, AND LOTS OF WINS-GO 'RED BIRDS'
