When approached by an SI reporter on Thursday at a gym in Miami, Rodriguez declined to discuss his 2003 test results. "You'll have to talk to the union," said Rodriguez, the Yankees' third baseman since his trade to New York in February 2004. When asked if there was an explanation for his positive test, he said, "I'm not saying anything."That would be 2003, the year he won the AL MVP, hit 47 homers, drove in 118 runs, and was generally impressive enough that the Yankees went out and traded for him after the season ended. Apparently he did all of that on testosterone and a steroid known as Primbolan. And really, 2003 was his worst season in Texas, not all that impressive compared with 2000-2002, 2005, or 2007.
I guess that "A-Fraud" talk won't be going away.

No surprise here. How can someone so talented, continually screw things up? It will just make his visits to Fenway that much better this year, and the ultimate failure of the Yankees that much sweater to enjoy. www.realnewenglandsportsblog.com
Yeah, I bet lil' papi, and manny being manny will surface as well...how about curt? I am from massachusetts and can not wait to see all the "big name" Dead Sox players revealed. As for the Yankees...see you in October!
I think you mean "sweeter" when you say "sweater." You spell like a Boston fan.
How do you enjoy a game in a sweater..."sweet" dumb ass bosox fan
This really doesn't mean anything to the Yankees, or Arod. He tested positive for it in 2003 much like Giambi, Bonds, Sheffield, etc. Six years ago!!! If they want to shave off 20 homeruns from his career total to keep you crybaby fans from killing themselves than so be it! Anyone who watches Arod knows he's blessed with talent like no other ballplayer, but we do know how he caves in to pressure. I am sure he thought it would give him an advantage, but in reality it didn't. With the long history of the Red Sox players using sretoids, Red Sox fans should keep their mouths shut.
you spelled sweeter wrong
I think Madonna made him do it--No matter who she touches or has anything to do with, they become SCUM like her!!!!!Just look at Penn, Cold Play "butt Head", that guy she stole sperm from in Central Park- and the dozens of others she had affairs with-- POOR A-ROD!!!
According to this article, the steroid use was back in 2003 when A-Rod was with the Texas Rangers -- Madonna wasn't "touching" anyone but her new hubby, Guy Richie, at that time! Her acquaintance with "The Rod" came about much later -- so, the "claws weren't out for him" until about a year ago. :-)
Thats right Brother Jon, RedSux Nation will be sweating everytime the Yanks come to put a hurt on da Sux.
Is MLB and everything around it becoming more stupid by the minute. Results of "Diagnostic" tests of 2003 are still available in 2009 for leakage to the press? Give me a break,,,MLB needs to pull it's head out from the sand and realize they are their own worst enemy. Clean it up, or not, but don't cry if the fans get tired of Players Unions,BS drug policies and swollen headed "stars", and put their hard earned money into other entertainment options. MLB and pro wrestling are moving closer to each other every season.
this is exactly what i feel, do it or not, stop messin around
AROD AND BOND'S GOODEN AND STRAWBERRY!ALL DRUG ABUSERS WHEN WILL THIS NONSENSE END?BASEBALL NEEDS A RESPONSIBLE DRUG PROGRAM RUN BY AN INDEPENDENT OPERATOR!

Just what the yankees need when he opt out of his contract the yankees should of let him go.Now they have him a long time as i see it i dont think they will see a world series ring. They can spend all the money they want.

Soccer, swimming, football, baseball, running, tennis, cycling (yes, you too Armstrong!) basketball, boxing, heck even in fencing and canoeing! ...am I forgetting anything? Oh, yes Hollywood! The Congress and the Senate. They are all doing it. All guilty...all on drugs! Even horses are drugged! Children are on drugs. Parents are on drugs.A world of junkies, why are we so surpriesed A-Rod is part of it?
Haha. Figures hockey is the only sport that steroids aren't a problem (and also absent from your list), not like they help you with hockey anyway. All they do is slow you down by making you heavier. Seems to me that hockey is the only sport with integrity anymore, I can't even imagine why any of you find the other sports more entertaining when all of them are plagued by such garbage and drama, meanwhile hockey's only problem is that everyone is watching all the drama and bs in the other sports. I smell hypocrits. You all complain about the drama in the other sports, but yet you don't boycott it to send the message across that it needs to be fixed. Thats how you get the attention of the MLB, when they're not getting any revenue to pay for their players and staff. So do yourself a favor, and either stop complaining about all the crap going on, or do something about it and boycott it. (not talking to anyone specifically here by the way)
Screw the Red Sux!Big Sloppy",Varitek,That Bigheaded Youklis,Manny, and countless others were juicing too so don't fool yourselves Red Sux Gaytion, Your team is just as dirty as the Yankees,The reason they harp on the Yankees is because they're more relavent then the Blow Sox and always will be, So all you sweater wearing diuchebags get your laughs in now before the dirt gets uncovered on your team.. Long live Bill Buckner...1918 forever!..Clemens a Red Sock for life
