A-Rod Apologized to Selena Roberts

Alex Rodriguez admitted in his interview with Peter Gammons that he took steroids. He also discussed Selena Roberts, the Sports Illustrated reporter who broke the news of his positive test, and accused her of "stalking" him.

This seemed a touch over the top and such a sentiment was qualified by the police not having any records of trouble between the two. Now, Rodriguez has called Roberts to apologize for his statements toward Roberts, presumably because they were entirely made up.
Roberts, a former Star Tribune reporter who covered the Vikings during the early 1990s, said today that Rodriguez called her last Wednesday. She didn't want to comment on the call until Rodriguez holds a news conference after arriving at spring training Tuesday.
That's because she's handling this entire business "professionally." While I'm aware that Rodriguez had a "professional" make-up artist and a "professional" sweater picker-outer for his interview with Gammons, whoever was in charge of that interview probably should have thought out the usage of "stalking" a little more carefully.

Roberts is currently in the process of writing a book about Rodriguez to be published soon, and it would probably behoove him to play as nice with her as possible for the next few months. Oh, and not to lie. That would help too.
