We're through the first two days of the baseball season so I figure it's about time we start talking about the World Series. Who you have going? I think it's pretty obvious after two games that both the Blue Jays and Marlins are going to go 162-0 and are on a collision course for October, though this opinion may be a bit premature. Still, MLB and Fox Sports are already talking about the World Series.More specifically, the start time for games.
It's been a common complaint amongst baseball fans that World Series games start way too late and often don't finish until after midnight on the East Coast. Now it seems that those complaints have finally been heard, and the two sides are working together to give World Series games an earlier first pitch.
The president of Fox Sports, Ed Goren, said Tuesday that the two sides had been working to reach an agreement to get to the first pitches in those games sooner. This is great news, but I don't get what they're negotiating about. if both sides are interested in starting the games earlier, then what's left to discuss? Does Fox want 7:50 but MLB wants 8:00 because Bud Selig wants to finish watching Wheel of Fortune first?
"We are working with baseball and I think we all have the same agenda," Goren said. "And this is to get to first pitch more efficiently than we have in the past. We are continuing to have discussions to make that happen."
Goren declined to be specific about how much sooner the sides are considering, but an industry source suggested all the first pitches in the Series might come as soon as 7:50 p.m. Eastern and perhaps no later than 8 p.m. Eastern.
All I know is that I hope this does happen because with the length of time World Series games take with the extended commercial breaks, I'm really tired of having to stay up all night just to watch the game. Personally I'd be all for day games on the weekends, though that is not likely to ever happen due to advertising rates at those times. After all, it's the primetime advertising rates that have the games starting so late to begin with.

Please start the games earlier. They are on so late that kids and even grown ups can not see the end of a game. What a shame. I love baseball, and want the games on earlier.
