Do you remember the Pirates-Brewers game on Monday? You probably don't. You might not remember it even if you watched the game. But Ryan Braun is still talking about it. He homered early on in Monday's game and was beaned by Jeff Karstens in his next at-bat. He was upset during the game, he threatened the Pirates with violence yesterday, and Wednesday, he's still moaning about it. I like watching Braun hit and I get that he's upset that he got buzzed, but he really needs to let this go. Karstens doesn't have great control (nine walks in 15 innings this year) and he doesn't throw particularly hard, but Braun just keeps going on and on and on about this. I think he probably crossed the line a little bit in that story I linked above:
"I guarantee you that kid wanted nothing to do with it," Braun said. "It came from somebody else. He wouldn't even look at me."Karstens, known to Braun as "that kid" that he just feels so bad for, is actually 26. Braun, the upholder of all that is good and righteous in baseball, is 25.
In the two games since Monday's, the Brewers pitching staff has felt the need to "retaliate" by throwing at exactly zero Pirate batters. Maybe that says something about how the rest of the Brewers view the beaning, and maybe it doesn't. But Braun is certainly the only one that's been complaining.

Pat, sound like you're the one who is complaining. How about you let it go?

Actually, the Brewers DID retaliate... the next day, Dave Bush hit two batters in a row. It wasn't covered on The Almighty and Ever-Knowing ESPN, however, so it must not have happened.

Bush barely brushed those 2 batters on Tuesday, unlike the hit on Braun right between the shoulder blades. The best retaliation was to sweep tem in the series.

sounds like we have another ocho cinco on our hands-he is more interested in his personal accomplishments than focusing on his team. The customer is always right-even if he is wrong, the customer is always right. If you want that ball, then be prepared to pay while you are getting it.
