Some sad news to report out of Arizona. Gabrielle Schoeneweis, wife of Diamondbacks reliever Scott Schoeneweis, was found dead at the couple's home in Fountain Hills, Arizona on Wednesday afternoon. The Arizona Republic reports that the the Schoeneweis' 14-year old daughter called police upon finding her mother on the floor of her parents' bedroom. When officers arrived on the scene Mrs. Schoeneweis was unresponsive and she was pronounced dead. There is no cause of death at this point.
The Diamondbacks played a doubleheader Wednesday in Miami against the Marlins, and many of the Arizona players wore Schoeneweis' number on their hats. Schoeneweis is on his way back to Arizona. The couple has four children. Our deepest condolences go out to them and the rest of the Schoeneweis family.

FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY HOW SORRY I AM FOR THE FAMILY'S LOSS. HOW IRONIC IT IS TO SEE HOW GOD'S PLAN IS DEFFINITLY NOT OUR PLANS. A MOTHER OF 4 CHILDREN NOW IN GOD'S HANDS. MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WE ALL JUST HAVE TO HOPE SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE. ALSO IT'S VERY NICE TO SEE GROWN UPS HERE SAYING SUCH NICE THINGS. USUALLY THERE IS AIWAYS ONE OR TWO THAT HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY AND THINK THINGS LIKE THIS IS A JOKE. FOR THOSE PEOPLE OUT THERE, I HOPE YOU NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE DEATH OF YOUR MOTHER. MINE PASSED IN 1985 AND TO THIS DAY IT STILL AFFECTS ME. I AM A MAN OF 56 AND WHEN IT COMES TO MOTHERS, YOU ONLY GET ONE. GOD BLESS

Gabrielle Schoeneweis. She was beautiful and charismatic. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She could make you laugh with her stories…The first day I met her she explained why she loved her particular automobile. She had grown up with brothers and she knew more about cars than my husband. From the tires rims to the engine –that Mom appreciated cars…My husband was impressed. …She taught me how to text message. That Lady could work that phone. She would put music on her phone to listen to before she picked up…I have 30 second bites of music, I will forever wonder how the rest of the song goes. She was an amazing Mother…When Scott was out on the road she did it ALL…She did not “outsource” her parenting. She often invited over all the kids in the neighborhood for pizza. She could often be found jumping on the trampoline with her two middle children. She taught my children “tricks” on the trampoline…Always, showing them first “how it was done”. Even when she was pregnant with her last daughter she was always active…She never wanted to let her kids down. In the early summer evenings she would walk the neighborhood teaching her younger children how to ride a bike…She painted little girls nails, she glittered hair and she “snuck” them an extra ice cream when they needed it most. She had a special bond with her oldest daughter. I think she felt they “grew up together”. The last time I saw her she was introducing us to her new baby girl. This is just a small snap shot of who she was. She was so much more…This post is for her. It is for her family. It is for all the people who cared for her a will forever miss her. Love, J.F.

Thank you for the insight of Gabrielle Schoeneweis. She sounds like a wonderful Mom and Wife. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. This is really a tradegy for them. I'm sure it is difficult to understand for her young children. As a Diamondback fan here in Arizona, my thoughts and prayer are with the team too as they think about their own families at this time.

You obviously don't believe and that's cool. Your choice. But sometimes it helps others to believe in something, wether real or not. Gets them through the tough times or just everyday living. At least this man will know that he has all the support and caring of so many people..no matter what their beliefs. Are you really that obtuse?
