Matt CappsAfter making two trades Tuesday, the Pirates may not be finished.

Pittsburgh has publicly said that it would listen to offers on players who are not under team control for 2010 -- shortstop Jack Wilson, second baseman Freddy Sanchez, first baseman Adam LaRoche and lefty reliever John Grabow.

And according to an official of an AL team, Pittsburgh was particularly considering deals for Grabow and closer Matt Capps.

The Marlins, Twins and Dodgers are seeking bullpen help.

But the Bucs won't move players simply to dump salary. They want to get prospects, particularly power arms. And a person familiar with the Pirates' thinking warned that Capps would cost more than the others in terms of prospects because of his contractual status -- the reliever is not eligible for free agency until after the 2011 season.

Although the Pirates seem within striking distance in the tight NL Central, they may see that there are few sellers so far in the marketplace and thus have decided to strike now. Dating back to last July, Pittsburgh has been trading established players (Jason Bay, Xavier Nady, Nate McLouth) to add depth to what was a talent-barren organization.
