The votes are in and counted and St. Louis is ready to host the 80th Midsummer Classic on Tuesday July 14, so who will be representing the American and National League in the Gateway City? There will be 33 players on each league's roster, with the eight position-player starters selected by a fan vote, eight pitchers (five starters and three relievers) and one reserve at each position selected by a vote among the players, coaches and managers and the remainder of the roster filled by the managers of each team -- Joe Maddon in the AL and Charlie Manuel in the NL. As has been the case the last few years, fans will also select the final player for each league in a vote to be conducted in the next week.
After the jump see the full rosters for the 2009 All-Star Game.

Thank goodness Manny Ramirez didn't make the roster for the Dodgers! Although, I am sure he thinks that he should have. Steroid abuser, he belongs in the trenches with Bonds, Clemens and all their cronies.

Along with the other 104 MLB Players that tested positive for PEDs but the guttless MLB decided to hid their names. The All-Stars are full of PEDs as is most of the Hall Of Fame.
Baseball has been a 'sport' of cheaters for years.

The guy who wrote this questioned sending Dustin Pedroia. In all stats if thats what he is basing this on with the exception of HRs, Pedroia is as good or better than his numbers last year. And if I recall correctly, Pedroia was only AL MVP last year (notice the sarcasm). I question why the NL would name 4 first basemen to the team when Albert Pujols is having a monster year and is playing before the home crowd. My God, Ryan Howard sure doesnt deserve to be there. Sure he hits a lot of HRs but he isnt even batting .250 for crying out loud.

Sad That the twins don't have the deep pockets of other teams, they would almost field a whole team!!

wow, the starters look like a list of the best the east coast has to offer. To bad all of the best teams are in the west. I guess the east coast bias is real. to bad the final standings will show at least three west coast teams have better records than the east coast.
