ST. LOUIS -- The pitcher most in the news over the past week will start for the American League in Tuesday's All-Star Game.A major league source confirmed to FanHouse that Roy Halladay will get the nod for the AL. The selection is to be made public Monday by manager Joe Maddon.
Halladay has been the subject of speculation since Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi revealed earlier this month he would listen to offers for his ace, who is 10-3 with a 2.85 ERA.
One executive from another AL team said Sunday he doesn't expect Halladay to be traded because of what the Blue Jays seek in return. According to the executive, once an interested team tells Toronto that any prospect is "off-limits," that effectively ends the discussion. That matches what a source told FanHouse last week, that "it's almost got to be like a [Erik] Bedard deal [or] Dan Haren."

Don't worry, the Yankees are going.....backwards. They were just in a tie for 1st place with Boston....and now they are 3 games back. Swept by LAA. They also lost 2 out of 3 to the worst team in baseball....the Washington Nats. lol. Even with the admitted steroid user A-Roid and the highest paid team in MLB...$201,000,000.00 payroll. Yankees will end up in 3rd place in their own divison. Maybe they should of spent more money. LOL.

rediculous, greinke should be getting this start. if he had any kind of an offense behind him, he'd have 12-13 wins easily. but because he's from kc and they are a bad team, he gets shafted.

When the Royals were in Toronto Greinke watched Halladay pitch. " You can't learn anything from that. Nobobdy can do what he does, he's the best."

Why should Verlander be the starter? Hallady is a Cy Young winner and produces every year. Who has a better era this year? Verlander is a great pitcher, but, remember he went 11-17 last year.

Jemmy , i'm a Red Sox fan and I'll tell you that's crazy. Halladay is the best choice, he deserves it and any team would be lucky to have him.
