While the Phillies are "earnest" in their pursuit of Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay, according to a major-league source, the sticking point between the teams might be the inclusion of left-hander J.A. Happ and right-hander Kyle Drabek. A second source said, "I'd be shocked" if Philadelphia would "reverse course" and include both Happ and Drabek for Halladay. But a third source stated Toronto has "got to" have both.
"The price is going to be high," the first source said. "It's going to be tough to swallow [for the Phillies]. I think it's earnest. I think they're trying to pound something out."

It's worth it.
Halliday is good enough to give those pitchers up now that we have Martinez.

The Philllies would be stupid to give up both Happ and Drabek. If they can't get the deal done without giving up both of them then they shouldn't make the trade.

Don't do it! Halladay is terrific but he isn't worth sacrificing the future by giving up Happ and Drabek. Screw Toronto. Let some other team have him and his 15 mil price tag.

Happ and Drabek are just the top two. Toronto wants all our top prospects. It's going to take 5 or 6 players to get him. That's just foolish. After next season Halladay is going to want a long term contract. The same time Howard becomes a free agent. What are you going to do, shell out 250 mil. for 2 players and have no farm system. We won the series without Halladay and whe can do it again, and again. With our minor leaguers we could be contenders for the next 10 to 15 years...........

It's unwise to trade your entire future for today. Happ or Drabek. Pick one. Plus future considerations. Plus cash. If that's not enough, stand pat. We did it last year, we can do it again. GO PHILLIES
