Brandon Inge looked quite different Monday night as the Tigers opened a three-game series with the Angels. The All-Star third baseman had the underside of both his forearms tattooed with the names of his young sons.According to the MLive.com report, Inge decided to get inked while the Tigers stayed in San Francisco over the weekend to play the Oakland A's.
He now has a "Chase" tat on his left arm and "Tyler" on his right arm.
"This guy does tattoos for a lot of major league players and drew them up for me the last time we were in town," Inge said. "He said to sit on it and think about it, and I just loved it the more I looked at it. It's a real unique cursive style.Inge has had a tough go of it recently on the field. He's hitting just .165 with three homers and nine RBI since the All-Star break and his patellar tendinitis has been acting up. But, hey, at least the Tigers remain on top of the AL Central and the tattoos look cool.
"My wife loves it, and it's for my two boys. I'm very happy about it. The stereotype about tattoos drives me nuts, but don't judge me by this. These are very special to me."

RIDICULOUS! These are our kids heros. They should have more class and get out of the ghetto.Your a Major League Ball Player not a gang member or a prisoner.The NBA and the NFL (natonal felon league)have been gone for a long time and now they are coming to baseball.Its sad and the MLB should set an example by just saying NO to all of this ghetto crap.

People are just trying to find an excuse to ink up their body. Its become part of pop culture to get tattoos, monkey see monkey do. Back then people who got tattoos were either bikers, gang members, people in the military, and people who are in tribes in other countries. Having a tattoo meant that you were either a rebel/badass or in a tribe. Since now everyone and their mother has a tattoo, the value and meaning of having a tattoo has changed. We tolerate it, its common, it seems trivial. You no longer have to be a badass or tough guy to get a tattoo, all you need is the money to get a tattoo. Theres a lot of fake tough guys out there with tattoos. People would get tattoos back then to be different and unique, since practically everyone has one now, I guess the only way to be unique and different is to not have a tattoo. Its funny how things turn around.

Myself, I am headed to work. I am a CEO not a pizza delivery guy. You know, one of those guys who goes in at noon and plays golf at 2 and gets a big big bonus at the end of the year.ha! I do like pizza though.Why don't you guys go get another tat and sit around and watch Oprah. But remember,its CEO's like me that are the ones that will be hiring you someday, and I don't like tats.
