I didn't know it was possible for a sentence to fill me with both dread and relief simultaneously until this one: Curt Schilling will not run for the currently vacant US Senate seat from Massachusetts. Apparently Schilling has been approached about running as a Republican in the currently unscheduled special election to fill the late Ted Kennedy's seat, but he's decided he'd rather focus on his video game company right now. There has never, ever been an athlete more perfectly fit for politics than Curt Schilling. He's both incredibly opinionated and unafraid to let people know it. Schilling could slide into D.C. (or talk radio, for that matter) without missing a beat. Of course, he's also a Republican in Massachusetts running for the seat formerly held by two members of the Kennedy family. Were he to run, his odds of winning would be slightly longer than the odds faced by the Red Sox when they fell behind the Yankees 3-0 in the 2004 ALCS.
Of course, Schilling only says that he won't run right now. He certainly leaves the door open for the future:
This is a decision that Shonda and I would make. She's given her entire life and the first 14 years of my children's lives to baseball. and rightfully so. This company, 38 Studios, has taken a lot of time and energy. If I could divert time and energy away from that, then there's a possibility I might think about it, I don't know."Only in America.

I couldn't think of a better position for Schilling than being a Senate blowhard. With the endless nonsense he spews and ability to manufacture fiction from thin air (nice fake bloody sock, ass), he's perfectly cut out for service in politics.

Schilling will be a good politico.
He has mastered the art of talking from both sides of his mouth without saying anything positive or relevant.
He has mastered the notion of being more valueable than he really is.
He has mastered the art of cheating to the point that people or fans won't notice.
I don't know if he mastered the art of drinking the way the Senatore did, but, he was suspected of doing drugs to enhance his abilities. That must count for something.
He will be a good follow up candidate to Senator Kennedy, Schilling has similiar qualities that Masschussetts voters admire.

Tiger, just 'cuz your a disgruntled Skankees fan that is no reason to accuse Schilling of cheating. That '04 ankle surgery was real. And there was no other player less apt to take steroids than straight, right wing, play it by the rule book Curt Schilling.
Which brings me to my next point. While I as a Sox fan appreciate so much what he did for the the team by helping bring us 2 WS championships in 4 years (in fact going above and beyond the call by sacrificing his foot w/ experimental surgery),I have never been a fan of his political views or 'holier than thou' attitude. I would not be happy if he were my senator.
He would be much better as a talk show host on Fox News, like Glenn Beck or Bill O'Rielly. At least then I wouldn't have to listen to him.
Curt Schillings 'bloody sock' would not fit in Ted Kennedy's shoes!

Is that before or after he went over the bridge?
Only New England can keep voting for a habitual drunk that little while in office and that killed a woman, lied about it, covered it up, and elected him over and over!!

Schilling --- straight, right wing, played by the book ???????????
You better lay off that juice that Arroyo provided Schilling.
At least that is what Arroyo implied in an ESPN interview. He stated : "Guys on that 2004 team took stuff, but they didn't know what was in the stuff". He implied that a lot of guys in that lockeroom took stuff including an injured pitcher to heal faster.
He also said, that this guy never stops talking and had a road mistress that was about to spill the beans because he stiffed her.
What is a Skankees? Is that your way of being sarcastic or just being cute? Did you derive that?
It is obvious that you don't understand the art of tounge in cheek comments, only stupid retorts.
Please be more creative with your derogatory comments.

Wooooooh... Some Skankee fan sure is testy !!!
Drinking an "energy" drink (!?!?!?!) is not sticking a needle in your ass.
Ted was a very imperfect person. Its only in the last 15 years when he met his second wife that he accomplished much to be proud of. He accomplished a lot before that but not a great human being. And he paid dearly for Mary Jo's death.
Don't you think its possible to atone for your sins? To try to make the world a better place? Oh no. you probably don't.
P.S. It's spelled T-O-N-G-U-E.

From what I heard on the tube last night, Schilling can't run as a republican because he's not registered as a republican--but as an independent. And as an independent, he wouldn;t stand a chance against both a democratic and a republican challenger. I think the final decision has been made for him.

redsox got outed this year as steroid cheats.. the 2004 team and the 2007 team had a handfull of them.. so now the redsox nation can shut it up about steroid cheats.. i think all teams have them.. redsox needed the juice to get the rings. i noticed one more thing today.. the redsox fans havent been trashing other teams in the last 2 days.. im shocked... redsox fans are the most arrogant unrully fans in baseball.. i looked at a few studys and they showed that the redsox fans are the most hated in baseball. i wasent shock of this new find. just go to boston to see a game youll see what i mean. you boston sox fans keep saying theres alot of baseball left this year.. not really.. and you going deeper into a hole every week.. becareful you might not make the playoffs this year.. but i know.. it wont be the redsox fault.. its the curse ,,,booooooo booooo boooooo
