While the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers were a delicious appetizer on Tuesday night to the MLB postseason, the real meal begins this afternoon as the baseball playoffs officially get underway. There are eight teams remaining, all with the same goal of hoisting that World Series trophy in a champagne-soaked locker room next month. Some of them were expected to be here, others surprised us.All of them deserve it.
The defending champion Philadelphia Phillies will start things off against the Colorado Rockies, and they'll be followed by the New York Yankees versus the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals.
FanHouse will be here for all of it as well. So please, join us after the jump for all the fun.

I am a depressed Detroit Tiger fan - lol. I can't believe the Tigers are not playing the Yankees right now. But yes, I can spell c-h-o-k-e.
But to Twins fans, don't get too giddy about your comeback. You don't have a great record with Eastern Division teams, esp. the Yankees.
Get you out of your indoor Metrodome and things are not as glorious. Can't wait for next year.
My prediction, Yankees in 5 games. Bye bye Twins.

O yea, by the way. Thanks Cabrera for getting drunk Friday night, before the second to last game of the season. I know, you going 0 for 4 with 6 Tigers on base had nothing to do with your extremely high blood alcohol level 12+ hours before game time.
Now you can get drunk all you want for the next 4 months.

Can the TBS announcers sound any more like Yankee haters calling the game? Hate that crap, call it like impartial reporters boneheads!
