Game 6 of the ALCS between the Angels and Yankees, scheduled for 7:57 PM ET Saturday night, has been postponed until Sunday because of inclement weather. First pitch will be at 8:20 PM ET.The adjustment means that if Los Angeles wins on Sunday, Game 7 will be played on Monday, one of the scheduled off days before the start of the World Series on Wednesday.
Rain has threatened all of the ALCS games played in New York, finally resulting in a postponement on Saturday because of a bleak forecast throughout the duration of the night.
Check back at MLB FanHouse later for more reaction, news and analysis of how the postponement will impact the remainder of the series.

Why did the Steinbrenners spend a billion and
half dollars on a stadium and not include a roof.
They must enjoy having their venue rained out.
Apparently they must believe that baseball must
be played in a outdoor stadium. We hicks in the
Northwest managed build an incredible stadium with
a retractable roof. Otherwise no MLB in the North
west.

Baseball is made to be played OUTSIDE, not under a roof. Rain outs are part of life.

@Mark Lamoureux:
So you'd rather not be able to watch a game at all, because it was called on account of rain, than be able to watch it under a retractable roof? A championship series game? This roof which could be pulled back for the next game when the weather was good. In the OUTSIDE, like you say it's made to be played in.
You know that the days of playing in the rain are long gone, right? So you still want to be the purist and watch a game only in the pure unadulterated, fully exposed, open to the skies environment? Even though once it gets going the average spectator (omitting you of course) is not going to notice the difference.
It rains a lot in October on the east coast. You could be watching the World Series and the SuperBowl about the same time if all these delays keep up. Ah, but for a roof.

Geezer -- that "retractable roof" in the Northwest doesn't make your baseball teams any better. Hence none of them are in the playoffs.

David S. My blog had nothing 2 do with the quality
of the Ms. My point being without a retractable
roof . The MLB probably wouldnt have a team in
the NW because our inclement weathet.

There's nothing I like better than hearing people on the evening news, be they fans or the Yankees themselves, MOPE about a rained-out playoff game as if it were the first one ever. What a bunch of crybabies...

It all comes down to the greed of the owners. They need to go back to when they would have some double headers to shorten up the season. End of Oct. and Nov. is no time for baseball in the north.

Let's liven up this boring game! Play in the rain and snow; pitcher must throw the ball every 30 seconds; batter can not step out of the batters box; make the ball bigger; if the pitcher fails twice to pick off a runner on base, the runner advances one base. The only athletes in the game are the catcher and pitcher!! I wouldn't go to a baseball game if you paid me-dullsville.
