World Series Schedule 2009: Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Yankees

The World Series matchup is set. It will be a Turnpike Tussle between the Philadelphia Phillies -- the reigning World Series champions -- and the New York Yankees -- the owners of the most championships in major league history.

The 2009 World Series opens Wednesday night in the Bronx. Major League Baseball said the games are scheduled for first pitch at 7:57 PM ET, except Game 4 on Sunday, with first pitch at 8:20 PM ET.

What an absolute joke waiting for three days to start the series. They should have it in the rules that the series starts immediately after the other series are concluded. I hope they freeze. TV can adapt their schedules. I think MLB should go back to playing double headers on Sundays, about six per team during the season. It is better to have the season end on September 20th than to play in November. What a joke!

Well you have to take in account that they might of had to go to game 7 which would have been played today but you're right, November is way too late. It's so cold.

October 1st should be first game of World series.
Again, the mighty dollar has taken over therefore to pay the "boys" their mega-bucks, we have to wait until probably November to have a winner. This really SUCKS and I have totally lost interest. And for what it's worth I am losing interest in most all sports the same way. Too long of a season baseball, basketball, hockey, NASCAR, toooooo long.......

Yankees in 4? C.C. (which stands for Constantly Choking) Sabathia ran into a brickwall last year. The Phillies shellshocked C.C. in The N.L.D.S. when he was with The Brewers. Andy Pettite doesn't impress me either. BTW, didn't The Phillies took 2 out of 3 (and could have been a sweep if not for a blown save) from The Yankees (in their own park)?
